The second release to be taken from Girls Aloud's album 'Tangled Up' was 'Call The Shots'

The song was sent to radio on 16th October. By late November it became their first single since 'See The Day' to reach the UK Radio Airplay Top 10 chart, and on 23rd December it became the first Girls Aloud single to peak at #1 on UK Radio Airplay!

The video debuted on music channels on 17th October. The video is only Girls Aloud's second music video to be filmed outside of the UK, in LA. The video peaked at #8 on the UK TV Airplay.

With 'Tangled Up' released on 19th November on CD and download, 'Call The Shots' was therefore available as a downloadable track a week before physical release. 'Call The Shots' remained mysteriously absent from the iTunes chart throughout the week, but eventually appeared on the iTunes chart on Saturday 24th November at #2, just behind Leona Lewis's hugely successful single 'Bleeding Love'. 'Call The Shots' went on to peak at #1 on iTunes the day after.

Due to strong download sales, 'Call The Shots' entered the official charts at #9. Not only did this become Girls Aloud's 17th Top 10 single in a row before the CD singles were even available in shops, but it also prevented the recently reunited Spice Girls from achieving an 11th Top 10 single - 'Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)' reaching #11 on CD and download sales.

'Call The Shots' was released on two CD formats on 26th November 2007. 'It peaked at #3, beaten to the top by Leona Lewis' 'Bleeding Love' and T2's 'Heartbroken'. This also happened the following week.

'Call The Shots' has currently sold over 235,000 copies in total, making it the second best selling Girls Aloud single.
