"Whole Lotta History" helped make history by contributing to the first chart that included new chart rules regarding legal downloads (see below the UK Chart Run for further information). 

Initially charting at #80 on downloads only, the single charted properly at #6 the week after, thus making it 12 Top 10 hits in a row for the girls, a great achievement for a group that had only been around for 3 years.

However it went on to become their worst selling single so far in both the UK and Ireland.

Note:  A new chart rule was introduced in March 2006, where a song could enter the official charts a week before it was released on physical formats (i.e CD).  "Whole Lotta History" downloads counted towards the chart dated 12th March 2006, and therefore entered at #80 on downloads only before climbing to #6 the following week when physical formats were released. "Whole Lotta History" was the 4th most downloaded non-physical-format-released song of the week.  Black Eyed Peas "Pump It", Joey Negro "Make A Move On Me" and James Blunt "Wisemen" all made the Top 75 on downloads alone.  These rules applied from March 2006 to December 2006 only.
