"Theme To St. Trinian’s" is a song recorded by Girls Aloud especially for the "St. Trinian’s – The Soundtrack". The soundtrack was released on CD and Download on 10th December 2007.

Individual download purchases of the track saw it enter the Top 200 at #165 on 23rd December 2007, in its second week on sale. This is due to the chart rule (made in January 2007) that any song (be it an album track, b-side or an old song) is eligible to chart.

The song quickly grew in popularity, reaching as high at #30 on iTunes in early January 2008. This resulted in "Theme To St. Trinian’s" climbing into the official Top 75 at #51 on 6th January 2008 – this being the first time a Girls Aloud track that was not a single had charted within the Top 75.

On 8th January 2008, early midweek figures showed that the track had a strong chance of climbing into the Top 40 in what was its 4th week charting. However the soundtrack was deleted from iTunes on the same day, thus meaning Theme To St Trinian’s was no longer widely available to download, which resulted in "Theme To St. Trinian’s" falling out of the Top 75 after just one week.

It is thought that the album was withdrawn from iTunes to prevent the Girls Aloud track from making the official Top 40, despite the fact it had already reached the official Top 75, although this was never verified.

The album was re-released to iTunes in April 2008, and once again "Theme To St. Trinian's" made it onto the iTunes chart, at #108. Its sales were enough to see the track re-enter the official chart at #121 on 27th April 2008. Its resurgance is due to the release of the film on DVD and Blu-Ray in mid-April.

Theme To St Trinian’s sold between 9,000 and 10,000 downloads in total, which was very impressive for an album track.

The film "St. Trinian’s" features a cameo from Girls Aloud performing "Theme To St. Trinian’s". This scene from the movie was also made into a music video, featuring other clips from the movie.
